December 2017: Center for Volunteer & Nonprofit Leadership Marin

CVNL Volunteers

Congratulations to our December “FIN of the Month:” the Center for Volunteer & Nonprofit Leadership Marin (CVNL) located in San Rafael, CA for serving as an Emergency Volunteer Center (EVC) during the recent wildfires in Northern California.

In the event of disaster, CVNL oversees volunteers and donations for both Napa and Marin counties. Earlier in the year, they operated an EVC in Napa in response to the Napa Valley and Sonoma County Fires. In addition to collecting goods, CVNL acts as the go-to for volunteering when a disaster is officially declared. CVNL works closely with the Red Cross, Food Bank, Salvation Army, County of Marin, County of Napa, Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) and other partners in Marin and Napa, to respond to the most urgent community needs.

CVNL joined the network in 2007 and as a capacity building organization with three sites throughout California, they define their mission as “advancing nonprofits and volunteerism by strengthening leadership, encouraging innovation and empowering individuals in our community.”

We want to take the time to recognize CVNL for their important role during this difficult time and encourage you to read this special thank you to their volunteers that was posted on their website.

Once again congratulations to all of our “FINs of the Month” featured in 2017 - you have all done amazing, FINspiring work and we are so excited to see what 2018 brings!
